Gymeejet and another well respected board user and mathmatician have recently done evaluations of several bidding models and have reached the following conclusion:

"If an eBay user follows the eBay bidding recommendations and places their maximum proxy bid sometime durng the auction process, then there is absolutely no statistically significant advantage as to when the bid is placed."
