What
if I can't contact my seller?

Following the close of an auction eBay recomends that
both the buyer and seller contact each other. The
recommended period of time to accomplish this is (3)
business days - Saturday's, Sunday's, and Holidays
do not count as business days. I usually recomend
sending an end of auction e-mail as soon after the
close of auction as possible, if you do not have a
response in 24-48 hours, I recommend sending a second
e-mail.
There
may be many reasons for being unable to contact your
seller - they may be having computer problems, your
mail providor and the sellers mail providor may be
having difficulty communicating with each other, your
seller may not run their business on weekends, etc.
If your
initial end of auction e-mail fails to result in contact,
I recommend the following steps be followed in the
order given, almost always one of these steps will
result in contact.
*
Try contacting the seller by using
the ‘e-mail this auction to a friend’ link on the
auction item page.
You
will need to enter the seller's e-mail address, then
remove the eBay text in the text box, and enter your
message in its place.
*
Next, you should pull the seller's
contact
information.
This will accomplish two things for you, first the
seller gets a notice that the information has been
requested, and secondly the information will include
their phone number. Just the act of requesting this
information sometimes is enough to get a quick e-mail
from the seller.
*
Once you have the phone number – give
the seller a call, there is nothing like a personal
phone call to quickly establish contact, resolve e-mail
issues, and get the transaction back on course.
*
Don’t be too quick to jump to leaving
negative FB for the seller, once you have resorted
to that, the transaction is doomed, and you may set
yourself up for retaliatory feedback as well. You
have a full 90 days (sometimes more) from EOA to record
feedback. |
