Here is my canned response on Cancelled Bids. If you
need more information, please let me know, giving
details about the problem at hand.
Every once in a while, a bid is cancelled, leaving
the bidder confused as to how and why. In general,
there are two kinds of cancellation. An administrative
cancellation is when eBay cancels your bid, perhaps
because you are NARU'ed or for other reasons. When
this happens, you should probably already have a good
idea why. :-), although often it's :-( The other kind
is more common.
Sellers often cancel bids on thir auctions. There
are some basic reasons why. Perhaps you are new, and
are bidding on a great many items. Do you have many
negative feedbacks, or a cumulative negative rating?
Some sellers do not ship internationally, and will
cancel bidders from out of their country. Maybe you
and the seller have met before, and the seller was
less than impressed. :)
When you get a bid cancelled from a seller, odds are
that you will either know or suspect the reason why,
or the seller may inform you. If not, you can e-mail
the seller and ask why. You may even be able to resolve
the matter.
In any case, please understand that the seller owns
the auction. If she wishes to prevent you from bidding
on her item, please respect her wishes. You might
even be able to find another item on eBay.
