Resist
the temptation to bid on items that you don't really
need or want. Just because something looks like a
steal of a deal doesn't mean that you should go ahead
and bid on it. If you don't take the time to put a
little thought into your bidding then you could potentially
get yourself into financial trouble or the very least
fill up your garage with useless junk. If you have
ever asked yourself "Now why did I buy that?"
It could have been an impulse bid, and it might mean
you're falling into the trap of bidding and buying
for all the wrong reasons. Although bidding may seem
like a game sometimes you need to rememeber that online
auctions are business places where sellers expect
bidders to honor their high bids and to treat every
win as an agreement to purchase the item won.
You might be an impulse buyer if:
- Items you win hold little interest to you and they
usually end up being put in storage.
- You get bummed out if new items aren't continually
coming to your door.
- You buy items just so you can open the box.
- You love "winning" part of the auctions,
yet dread the "paying" part.
- You are maxing out your credit cards using paypal
to purchase items.
- You hide your auction spending from friends and
family.
- You feel guilty about the amount of money you're
spending. |
