What Not to Bid On
Used or Pirated Software
You might think you are getting a good deal by placing a $50 bid on a "Back Up" CD for an expensive piece of software, but chances are you are just going to be buying a $50 coaster. In this day and age software companies are coming up with way's to verify CD keys or Serial numbers online. If you install the software and then try to do an update you might find that you have been locked out of the program. As far as the software company is concerned if your key comes up as a duplicate they are to see that as a pirated version of their software regardless if you thought you were purchasing a legit used copy. Another reason not to buy used software is the fact that if could be an illegal copy. A lot of people have CD burners and it only takes about 2 minutes to copy a CD, they could easily burn a couple hundred in a coarse of one day to sell on eBay. You are not going to get very far with the software company if 200 other people have the same CD key.

If you do end up looking for software online here are a few things to look out for:
- Words like "backup" or "archive" usually means you are geting a Copy.
- Dutch auctions- if someone is selling 35 copies of the same software chances are you will be getting a burned CD.
- No Packaging.
- Prices that are "too good to be true".
- Vague Descriptions.
- No pictures.
- Seller has a PO Box only, no Phone number.
- The CD say's CD-R on it.

Pills or Supplements
For the simple fact that you never know what you are getting I wouldn't recommend purchasing anything that can potentially effect your health at an online auction site. Is it worth taking the risk to save a few dollars. You can find anything from weight loss pills to steroids on just about any online auction site, but you'll be playing Russian roulette with your health. You can't trust everyone these day's so I would recommend purchasing your pills elsewhere.
