Search: Find
Items -
Another way to avoid an onslaught of listings is to
do a category-specific search. eBay will allow you
to perform searches from within a particular category
of interest (Musical Instruments, kids toys, books,
etc.). This is a great way to cut down on the number
of unrelated search results. Just remember that items
aren't always listed in their proper categories because
many new sellers select the wrong places for their
listings.
- Search: Item
Specifics -
This is used for searching Vehicle listings. You can
search by vehicle type, make, model and year. This
is an important tool for efficiently searching eBay
for the perfect car or truck. There's no point going
through pages of Ford trucks if you are only interested
in a 1995 Ford Taurus. The more specific you are the
less time you are going to waist sifting through listing
that you don't want.
- Search: Items by Seller-
Find items offered by a particular seller. Say if
you are looking for a specific Xbox game, find a seller
that has a few game listings and do a "Seller"
search. This will bring up every auction listing that
the particular seller has available. There's a good
chance that they will have more then one game listing,
especially if they are a power seller.
- Search: Items by Bidder
- Find items
a member has bid on. You can also select to include
winning bids or bids that are not the highest. If
you come across a buyer that seems to always get a
good deal on items that you are interested in, do
a search for their name and you will get a list of
auctions that the member has recently bid on. Then
if something catches your attention you can get in
on the action and place your own bid. Just don't expect
the bidder to be your best friend if you jump in on
a few of their auctions and out bid them. Not that
there's anything wrong with that.
- Search: By Item
Number
- Find an item if you know the Auction Item Number.
You can also choose between item listing and location
of item. This is great if you want to pass on an auction
to a friend. Just copy down the item number and pass
it on. Once they have the item number they can do
a quick search and find the auction.
